One of the things I love the most about working with horses is getting to meet so many amazing families! I am passionate about teaching and riding and I would love to share my experience with you
Kellie Pucket has been training and riding English and Western for over 15 years. Her attention to detail and passion for horses has led her Rodeo Team to compete in the NYRA (Northwest Youth Rodeo Association) of which she is also a member of the 2013 Board. Kellie coordinates and manages Covenant Acres Boarding Facility and offers horse training, boarding, and summer camps.
I have grown up riding ponies and horses and primarily riding English from the time I could walk. I am an HA Pony Club graduate and loved my experiences competing and learning through Pony Club. Pony Club lays a foundation of Horse management, equine science, and safety that has helped to serve me through the years I have spent teaching. I began teaching regularly at my mother’s barn when I was 15 and it has just been a part of who I am! I love students of all ages who want to learn and care about horses. I think no matter how much we know we always have more to learn and I love to discuss ideas and problem solve with students. I spent a 9-month session as a working student at a barn in England after graduating from the University of Idaho with a B.S. in Kinesiology. My time in England was a season full of hard work, riding, stall mucking, and learning. I loved afternoon hacks through the country which was a privilege if all your work was done.
I also was a part of 4H, showing my bunny when I was a clover bud, and then showing my pony when I was of age and I also showed a market sheep all through and used that as a fundraiser for life with ponies and horses! When I was 10 I adopted and trained (with my mother’s guidance and teaching) a mustang pony. She was an awesome partner till I was 15 and got a TB off the track and had a crazy time training her! I was involved in 4H all the way through high school and always had such a blast living and showing at fair!
I have been a part of Covenant Acres for 6 years now as a border and then an instructor. I have 2 young children and am often seen with them in tow It has been a year and half now that I have partnered with Kellie in taking on more students and doing more teaching. I am excited about the future of Covenant Acres!
